Tips from the Experts - The perfect hover!.
How many of you like taking photo's underwater but are plagued but the constant up and down movement preventing you to take that perfect picture?
Well this tip may just help to solve that problem. Now it may be quite hard to describe so forgive me if you get confused; the best way is to come to our dive center and I will show you in the pool. To start with I want you to imagine your lungs as a being just a balloon; that is effectively what they are. When you breath in you increase the volume of the balloon, and thus increase your positive buoyancy; you go up! When you breath out you reduce the volume, decrease your buoyancy and thus, go down. Easy right.
So how do you stop moving altogether? Well the thing to do is to time and control your breathing. If you have a small breath in, then you only go up slightly; the same goes if you have a small breath out; you go down only slightly. If you now stage your breathing so that when you start to go down, you actually start to breath in you will find that you barely move. If you then do the same when you start to go up, you also breath out, the same effect happens; you barely move.
So the next thing is to try it and if you can't get it to work then I will show you personally at Blue Season Bali.
