Blue Season Bali Staff - Putu
Putu is without doubt one of Bali’s top dive guides and we are unbelievably lucky to have him grace our great dive center once again after being head hunted for the world famous Wakatobi Dive resort in Indonesia. Putu has many years dive experience here in Bali with over 15,000 dives in this region alone. He started diving in 1994 and has been working ever since on a daily basis, so you can imagine the sights and wonders that he has seen, apparently his record for Mola Mola on one dive is 44…. can you imagine! In fact Putu is Bali’s renowned Mola Mola expert, he basically gives them a call in the morning and tells them what time to expect him at Crystal Bay with his guests.
I have been on one particular days diving with Putu where he told me “we need to get in the water now, not 10 minutes, not 30 but now, there will be at least 5 Mola at the first cleaning station”. Convinced and excited we all geared up entered the water and low and behold what do we see 5 minutes into the dive but 6 Mola lined up in a row at the first cleaning station… a great shot for any photographer!
For the privilege of diving with Putu, make sure you book early as he’s in such high demand and unfortunately we only have one of him. Of course our other Divemaster and instructors also have infinite knowledge of our reefs but you really cant compete with 15000 dives. Putu is always happy to help other guides, especially our Divemaster Interns on the currents, macro life and the fantastic underwater control his has of his guests.
