Scuba Lessons - PADI Open Water Course Schedule
There are numerous ways to complete the PADI Open Water Diver. Although we offer some standard scuba lessons we are able to create flexible training packages to suit your needs.
PADI Open Water Independent Study
In order to start the PADI Open Water Course with us in Bali you need to have completed some independent study. The standard method is to receive the manuals and DVD from us and then study in your own time. This means reading the five chapters of the book, watching the DVD for each chapter and then completing the knowledge review at the end of each chapter. You will normally need one full day to complete this independent study.
We now also have the eLearning option that saves you holiday time and offers more flexibility.
PADI Open Water Day One
We will pick you up from your hotel in South Bali from between 7am to 7.30am on this first day. After arriving at our dive center we will ask you to fill out the necessary paperwork. Please remember that you need to complete a medical form for us. If you answer yes to any of the questions we will ask for a medical certificate from the doctor, before taking you in the pool.
Once the paperwork is done then we will start by checking your independent study. This may be the quick review for eLearning or us checking your knowledge reviews and administering the quizzes and exams for non eLearners.
After this is done, we will jump into the pool and start going through the dive confined water sessions. You are now scuba diving! Generally we will do this easily in one day although sometimes we may need to use some of the second day to complete it. The pace depends on you; we are just guiding you through the skills so if you need more time, we will give it to you.
After this is all done then we will drop you back to your hotel.
PADI Open Water Day Two
Again we pick you up and bring you to our dive center where we will prepare to leave for the days diving. On this day we will plan to do two dives. The location could vary as we have to consider conditions and the ability of our students. We never guarantee the location for Open Water courses although we always aim for the best possible locations according to what we have to complete.
Dive One is a very relaxed dive. There are no real skills involved although you will be getting used to the dive environment and how to dive in general. The ocean is very different to the pool and is a lot more fun. The maximum depth for this dive is 12 meters.
Dive Two is where we will ask you to perform a few more skills for us. We will ask you to clear your mask of water, recover your regulator, share an alternate air source from another diver plus a few more. You will also get to go on a tour of the dive site to explore and have fun. The maximum depth for this dive is 12 meters.
After the diving is done the Instructor will log your dives with you, wash the gear and pack everything away.
After this is all done then we will drop you back to your hotel.
PADI Open Water Day Three
After arriving at the dive center on this final day we will set off for more diving; again another two dives.
Dive Three is more of the same, lots of fun diving and practicing the skills you developed in the pool. By this time you will be feeling more comfortable and relaxed in the water. This is where you really start to enjoy the diving. The maximum depth for this dive is 18 meters.
Dive Four and you are almost there. This dive will be your last for the certification. Your instructor will have helped you throughout to ensure you are safe and comfortable. This is the time to relax and enjoy as you only have a few skills left to do. The maximum depth for this dive is 18 meters.
After the diving is done the Instructor will log your dives with you, wash the gear and pack everything away. We will then process your certification card with PADI. This takes us a few minutes as it is done online. We will give you a temporary card and then PADI will post out your original card to your home address. it normally takes about 3 weeks to get the card although the temporary card we give you is good for 90 days.
You are now a PADI Open Water Diver and it is time to move onto the next level - PADI Advanced Open Water
