The PADI Drift Diver Specialty course in Bali introduces you to the coolest magic carpet ride you’ll ever experience. This course shows you how to enjoy rivers and ocean currents by “going with the flow,” staying with your dive partner, communicating with the dive boat and knowing where you are the whole time. And one of the nest thins is you get to dive at one of Bali's best diving sites - Nusa Penida.
What You Learn on the Drift Diver specialty
- Planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of drift diving
- An introduction to drift diving equipment -- floats, lines, reels
- Buoyancy-control, navigation and communication for drift diving
- Site selection and overview of aquatic currents – causes and effects
- Techniques for staying close to a buddy or together as a group
PADI Drift Diver - How does it work?
Prerequisites for the Drift Diver Specialty
To enroll in the PADI Drift Diver specialty in Bali you must be:
- A PADI Open Water Diver (or have a qualifying certification from another training organization)
- At least 12 years old
As with all PADI courses we will get you to complete the Independent study prior to the course. For the Drift Diver specialty course you will read the drift diving section from the Adventures in Diving manual, complete the knowledge review and have it checked by our Instructor when you arrive at our office.
After all the paperwork has been done we will depart for three dives. The course itself is only 2 dives but we provide you an extra free fun dive given the diving is so good!
When we return to the mainland the Instructor will then log your dives and issue your PADI certification. You are now a PADI Drift Diver Diver!
PADI Drift Diver - Where will I dive?
During the PADI Drift Diver specialty course you will be diving in Nusa Penida which is one of Bali's best diving locations with currents. Nusa Penida has masses of marine life and pelagic life so as you are drifting through the dense coral reefs you will see many interesting things. The currents at Nusa Penida can be very unpredictable so it is a great place to get drift diving experience.
PADI Drift Diver - What does it cost?
The PADI Drift Diver Course costs USD285.00 per person and includes:
- Hotel transfers
- Lunch and drinks
- All scuba equipment for the course
- Three (3) dives at Nusa Penida
- All PADI materials
- Log book and certification
- PADI Instructor fees
- Park and Porter fees
- Dive Insurance
