Everyones Favourite: Nusa Penida

Nusa Penida

Besides the mass tourism in Bali, tourists in Nusa Penida are quite rare – in contrast to the underwater world. Nusa Penida is no longer a hidden secret! Especially the Manta Rays and the possibility to see a Mola Mola gets the attention of most of the divers from all over the world.

Although you shouldn’t forget the dive sites around Manta Point! Take a look at some of the different dive sites around Nusa Penida!

If you are looking for a gentle drift dive combined with an abundance of corals and marine life, Toyapakeh is the place to be.

At the deeper end of the site you can see sharks ans turtles as well. Toyapakeh is also famous for its huge coral pillars and large gorgonian fans.

Gamet Bay is one of the most challenging dive site in Nusa Penida, but it’s definitely worth it.  You will find there an impressive reef wall that drops away at the edge of the bay.

As you come back up the slope you will see impressive table corals and coral bommies where many fish will be sheltering, a great place for you to capture stunning photos.

Luckily the main part of the bay is quite shallow so an excellent place to complete a safety stop at the end of the dive among some of the clearest waters and most profuse hard and soft corals around Nusa Penida.

Did you know that SD is named after the village school (Sekolar Dasar or SD means Elementary School in Indonesian) on the coast? No? Now you know!

SD is another great drift dive on the beautiful reef that runs along northern coast of Nusa Penida.
During your drift dive you will see different hard and soft corals as well as Nudibranchs, Sharks, Sweet Lips and so on.

All in all every dive site in Nusa Penida is worth a dive but keep in mind – Nusa Penida is just for experienced divers with drift and deep experience.
